The Matrix trilogy, with its special effects such as the Bullet Time effect, was groundbreaking for the film industry. Equally unique is this exact replica of a scene from the first part.
Trevor Boyd and Steve Ilett replicated the original scene frame by frame in this animation. For the 900 pictures they needed – in addition to their full-time job – a year from planning to completion.
Particularly impressive is the fact that all effects have been created in the camera, so without post-processing on the computer. Wires and other tools have always been cleverly hidden behind other objects. And even the title and credits were animated only with LEGO bricks.
